SRI LANKA NAVY’S LATEST ACQUISITION SAILS AWAY FROM THE U.S.

Former U.S. Coast Guard Cutter COURAGEOUS now renamed P 621 leaves Norfolk, Virginia on a Historic Voyage

P 621, the newest vessel to join the Sri Lankan Navy commanded by Captain S.S. Ranasinghe is due to leave for Sri Lanka on Saturday, February 19 from the Eastern Coast of the U.S. after a multi-religious ceremony attended by high officials of the U.S. Department of Defence, U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the U.S. Devinda R. Subasinghe will attend the ceremony along with Rear Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, who is in the U.S. representing the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy and Brigadier Rohan Jayasinghe, the Defence, Military, Naval and Air Attaché of Sri Lanka in the U.S.
