AN AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHER/ AUTHOR PRESENTS A BOOK ON ESALA PERAHERA

American photographer and author Michael Sarnacki presented a copy of his manuscript, “Sri Lanka and the Kandy Esala Perahera; Discovering the Spirit of Buddha in the Land of Elephants”, to Ambassador His Excellency Jaliya Wickramasuriya at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington DC.

Mr Sarnacki has been researching and photographing the Kandy Esala Perahera since 1995.

Embassy is hopeful to hold a photo exhibition and book launching of grand Esala Perahera in the United States followed by in other countries and of course in Sri Lanka.

The project is meant to increase international awareness of religious and cultural heritage of Sri Lanka and thereby to increase in tourism.
