CONSULATE GENERAL OF SRI LANKA IN LOS
ANGELES HOSTS FUNDRAISER FOR FIRE VICTIMS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2007
The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Los Angeles
announces a special fundraiser on Saturday, October 27, 2007 to
help provide much needed financial assistance to deserving communities
who have been displaced due to the fires of Southern California
disaster. The money collected will be donated to the Red Cross.
"Americans resident in Southern California
contributed greatly to Sri Lanka during our tsunami disaster,"
commented Jaliya Wickramasuriya, Consul General, "We look
forward to returning the favor and doing whatever we can to assist
families in need who have been hurt by these devastating fires.
We encourage all local South Asian communities to join us in this
important humanitarian effort on Saturday, Oct. 27th"

WHY: This is a great way to help needy families
who are suffering as a result of the fires when they most need
assistance. Also, it is a meaningful way for the local Sri Lankan
expatriate community to express its gratitude to Americans in
Southern California who helped Sri Lanka during the tsunami.
NOTE: All checks should be drawn in favor of
the "Consulate General of Sri Lanka" note at the bottom
of the check (for fire victims of Southern California Oct. ' 07)
